I’m baaaack!
I start teaching again this week at Legacy and Prima and I have a few private events for the month of August. So much has happened over the last few weeks. It seems like such a long time since I’ve seen your happy faces! I have so many stories to tell. And I can’t wait to hear what you all have been up to since I’ve been away.
I’ve always felt like a Villager since I’ve been coming here for 18 years. But now it’s official. I closed on the sale of my house in Ocala and on the purchase of my new home in The Villages on June 9. It was challenging in so many ways. There were moments when it truly felt nightmarish, but worth it in the end (kind of like childbirth 😳😉😆). I’m really happy with my new home and I’m still in the process of unpacking, etc. It’s going to take a while because, as some of you know, I sold a 2900sf house that was full of furniture that I did not sell, and bought a fully furnished 1900sf home. Yes, I currently have 4 sofas and a POD full of furniture that hasn’t even been delivered yet. 🤪 I’m looking forward to setting up my art studio asap.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to paint since I’ve been away because I had a total knee replacement on July 1. It was supposed to be June 17, but it got postponed two weeks due to a problem at the surgery center in Gainesville. I was allowing 6-7 weeks for recovery before teaching again, even thought the doctor said I would be ready after 2-3 weeks. Not true. I’m glad that I allowed more time. I used the two weeks prior to surgery to get somewhat settled in the new house. I feel that it was important to locate things like forks, toilet paper, and TV remote controls (still looking for a couple). But it’s ok because I also now have 5 TVs.
This space changes every day. There’s a sofa and a loveseat somewhere in there!

Well, I just wanted to update everybody. I am SOOOOO excited to see everyone. Since I’m moving about a little easier, my goal is to get a few brand new paintings out soon. Get ready for the change of season. In our hearts it will soon be Fall, but outdoors it’s still summer. Our friends from up north will be returning soon. Remember, if you’ve thought about a private party or event now is the time to schedule it. I have parties in September already. AND I’ve added a new venue! Starting October 14 I will be teaching once a month at Barons Creek Vineyards Tasting Room in Spanish Springs.
